Processing time
The processing time for the exam is 120 minutes. In addition, we grant a time reserve for scanning and uploading the solutions. The total time from the start of the exam to the latest handover is 150 minutes. The exam participants can divide these 150 minutes as they wish and are responsible for uploading the solutions themselves.
Type of examination and permitted resources
- The exam is carried out online as a so-called open book exam, i.e.
- all teaching materials from the lecture and the tutorial,
- as well as all of your own materials and notes,
- a calculator, a python or sage session,
- It is strongly suggested to prepare a crib sheet: one A4 sheet, both sides, handwritten by yourself, with the -in your eyes- most important things about the course. This is also allowed during the exam.
- However, the exam must be completed independently and without the help of other people. Direct or indirect communication with other people during the exam is prohibited!
- We will monitor participants during the exam via BigBlueButton.
Not allowed
- It is not allowed to communicate to persons other than the supervisors during the exam time. In particular:
- No phonecalls!
- No social media!
- No mail!
- No chat!
- No messengers, etc.!
- No talking to other persons!
- No sending or writing text or other messages!
- It is not allowed to leave the keyboard or the room without giving notice to the supervisor!
- It is not allowed to copy the exam questions; neither on a computer nor on paper!
Course of the exam
- The PDF document of the exam tasks will be made available at the specified start of the exam via the eCampus course of the lecture.
- If a printer is available, the tasks can be solved directly on the printed exam sheet.
If no printer is available, the tasks can be solved on your own paper. - The exam is accompanied by a Affirmation in lieu of an oath on examinations, which must be filled out (if a printer is available) or written down (if no printer is available) and then signed. Without this signed declaration, the exam cannot be graded.
- The exam must be completed by hand and with a document-proof, high-contrast (font color blue or black) pen. Purely digital solutions (e.g. with a tablet or digitizer) are not permitted.
- Each page of the solution must be labeled with the name and matriculation number so that the solutions can be assigned unequivocally.
Submission of the solutions
- The exam participants scan their solutions with a scanner or alternatively with a smartphone or digital camera. The submission must consist of exactly one file that contains all pages of the solution. A PDF file (preferred) or a ZIP archive with image files are permitted. It is the responsibility of the exam taker to ensure that the solutions are properly visible and legible. Illegible solutions cannot be scored.
- The submission takes place by uploading the scanned solution in due time via the eCampus course of the lecture. Delayed submissions will not be accepted.
- The original solution document must be be kept. In individual cases, the original solution document can be requested and must then be sent by standard mail.
